Maxed Out

First off I want to apologize to everyone about my disappearing thread about the new anodized 4/0 spacer bars and custom narrow kit.

I had just under $2500 of parts that were supposed to be in my hands and ready to go last week, but my plater destroyed every piece and got me back to square one. I was very embarrassed about the whole situation, so that's what made me delete the thread.

I was down but not out. I've never been a quitter, and don't cry over spilled milk(expensive milk) :D......I have since found a much better anodizer that does high gloss finish anodizing for show cars, etc.

From the loss arises new, better, lighter, and much sexier looking spacer bars than the original design. I suggested relief slots to my machinist and I think he nailed it. Hope you all agree.

I hope to have some anodized and ready to go within 2 weeks.

Here are the new designed bars, narrow kit and standard bars

That is definitely UN-COOL BEANS  >:(  I hope the plater is picking up the tab for the destroyed parts....The new parts look outstanding brother.....I will be anxious to see the finished products......Bill
It may not be very productive,
but it's sure going to be interesting!

I'm sorry that happened to you when you were only trying to do this for yourself and a few choice others in this world.  I hope you didn't have to polish all of them again because you did an amazing polishing job the first go round. Holy Cannoli! You did the right thing by not getting discouraged because I can't wait to get my sets of bars especially for trolling. These will look sweet with Tom's plates for sure.  I can now have red on the port and green on the starboard which sure makes things easier when it's an all hands on deck situation.  I'm a huge fan of the cut outs to shave weight, but most of all their more aesthetically pleasing and I like the shape he cut out.  You people around here are costing me a fortune with these sweet upgrades, but I have the nicest gear around and can take on much larger fish with much smaller gear in style. ;)
I also, look forward to having matching clamps and tongue for the tibs.  Is there any way you could make a deal with Tiburon for their hardware?
Thanks for sticking with it, Ted.

Wow that would be enough to make a lesser man give it up.  I too am glad you stuck it out.
I need that red clamp and some new red feets! And at least one of these new kitses.

Sorry to hear about your plating woes Ted. Unfortunately it happens more often than you think or they admit!
Were you able to rework them or did you have to start from scratch?

Starting from scratch Tom. I only took a portion of the parts for that first batch. I have more parts already made in my hands and am ready to try this again.

Losing those parts sucks when I think about all the hours spent sanding and polishing just under 200 parts. There was no profit in this venture to begin with, so now I'm on life support should another major failure occur, and my wife will surely pull the plug. If I just stop posting one day, you'll know what happened to me.  :D :D

David, your clamp is still on the list. 8)

That sucks my man. We all already had our convo. New types look fantastic and you know I'm in.

Alto Mare

Sorry to hear this Ted. About my parts, just make pretend you sent them already and don't worry about me. I know it isn't much, but it should help a little.
Your anodizing specialist should share the load...

Awe Ted. I'm sorry to hear about this. How bad does the plates look?  Could you even salvage them as seconds for a reduced price?
:D I talk with every part I send out and each reel I repair so that they perform at the top of their game. :D

STRIPER LOU

Ted, I too am sorry to hear of this. Its not only the money involved but the time and hard work. We appreciate your passion!
All the best,  ..  Lou

Edison blew out some zillion light bulbs before he hit it....without which we wouldn't appreciate the shine you put on your reel bling for us. Having tried to polish about a dozen bits of aluminum and not coming close, you have my appreciation for what you are bringing the Ohana. Can't wait.

Thanks for your efforts Ted...without innovators like yourself our customizing options would be greatly reduced.
