Reel 224

These pictures of the new knob for my 501 are not what Lou's knob actually looks like in real life, It's absolutely gorgeous. The depth of color and detail is stunning.

Lou; You are a artist craftsman. Thank you so much. Ruth said "THAT REEL IS MINE"!! Roll Eyes

Beautiful reel for sure!

Hard to believe it can still be called a 501 though.

Good looking reel there!

I am not sure it will match Ruth's custom rod though.  Maybe you need to wrap another?

Well Joe...there is one good thing about it. If she's claiming that one...you have the go-ahead to start another build! ;D  Great work, it looks fabulous. 8)

Beautiful reel Joe.

I'm waiting on my Lou's knobs for 2 red Jigmaster's and one Ice Blue. They are a work of art.

We are spoiled rotten here on the forum. The rest of the reel world knows not what they're missing, but guaranteed the custom reels like Joe's will be highly sought after for generations to come, the same as many of the mind bending creations found only on this forum.

Lou, your workmanship is very inspirational to say the least !!

Thanks everyone. I've got a bit of a hiccup on the lathe at the moment but I'll get sorted out. I've been running the holy heck out of it lately.  Either the speed controller or the motor brushes.

The positive comments are appreciated and Joe, that reel is Soweeeet! Nice work!
All have a great evening,  ..  Lou

I'm sure in 30 years our reels will be mostly composite of some sort. Maybe even the gears!

Thanks for all the kind words, but if it were not for guys like Lou,Cortez Conversions,Moto Fab,Vintage offshore conversions, Pro Challenger And Maxed Out. That reel would not exist. So most of the credit goes to those guys. internally Bryan's 5 stack drag system.

So thank you all for making this possible for me to enjoy and Ruth! ;D
