I think I built these around 2001 when I somehow found Charkbait and Accurate parts. I know Accurate was not producing reels at that time and didn't know it was called hot rodding, but I did know I wanted a powerful fats 4/0 with more line. So I built full Accurate out of my 113HL, ordered a wide spool and hit-100's from Mr. Quinn, who was forward a most engaging helpful resource in all my Penn questions. It was Accurate 4-1 SS  gears fir speed and power handle for torque. This was built to winch grouper out of the hole quickly without the weight of 6/0, being before we caught into braid.

6/0 just had ht-100 put in, it was plenty beefy for me as-was. I caught a sail on it once and it winched him in like just an overgrown ballyhoo.  Stock Penn half frame that was on donor 114hLW. But oh the six shooter handle 😎

Nice John! Wow, that's almost 20 years ago, I'm wondering what else you got stashed under the bed. ;D
I believe those kits came with bearings and stainless steel phillips head screws.
Forget about all the reasons why something may not work. You only need to find one good reason why it will.
