farmer56 here ,  hey guys has anyone ever used grease on post that gear sleeve gets pinned on   ????   smeared grease inside gear sleeve also  ???   if i only used light oil or latest space age impregnated oil  on non-roller bearing shafts failure is quick  on my  farm equip.  , but grease stays put improving wear.......  yes this would all but plug little ball on end of  handle nut rendering it useless to add oil....has anybody tried grease or am i so off base  ,  nuts  ,  not worthy  to ever post again   ????   on a side note  corn and beans  planted .  wow what a challenging year .  41  seasons,  no two alike .  still love the challenge

I do the same thing Farmer. Penn Blue on the post and in the sleeve.

Deal me in too fellas...I always grease the gear sleeve post instead of oil. It feels smoother than an oiled post...takes "clunkyness" out of the handle. later if grease should get stiff, a shot of oil through that handle screw port will limber things right up. Now that the corn and beans are planted, wet a line!  8)

No,
I plant tomatoes, that's about it.
I'm just a hillbilly. ;)
I drop a little bit of reel x on top of the sleeve, but grease first.

Yep...I spent some of my childhood on the farm...some of my family still farms. A little garden on the back 40 is about all I can handle these days. My cousin called a few days ago wanting help to put up hay...I'd sooner take a stick in the eye...HA!!!  :D ;D 8)
