Hi....Just ran across the 350 level wind with the part number 70-350 spiral bar that looks like it supposed to distribute the line on the spool like a normal levelwind reel.  I see on Scotts website they only list 1 model.    Did this really work?????    Thanks

Yes...they distribute the line very well. 8)

Actually work very well, and are a high quality reel.

The LL components are unique to this reel -- part numbers start in the 70's -- and include about 8 or 9 unique, but quality constructed parts.

The LL parts have long dried up -- although I still have a small, but decent selection  of #70-#79 parts, plus new sideplates, and spools -- but the other parts of the reel are typical Penn -- and share part numbers with other Penns.

Show us a picture when you can.

Best,

.... but to work properly, the level-line bar had to be positioned up high so there is enough tension on the line to keep it moving back and forth with the spiral.  That's ok for trolling or jigging but not so good for casting.  When casting, you will have the line flying up off the top of the spool, then making a turn toward the striper guide.  That extra bit of friction and resistance slows things down.  It may still be better than a clunky old Penn synchronized levelwind and a lot less likely to be damaged than a normal levelwind if you hook into something huge.
