A surprise in the mailbox on my way home last night at 10:30...

Sal sent me a couple of his custom knobs —

Nothing short of spectacular and skillful work.

The red crank will look great on one of the Cortez JM's that I am building.

Plus the 6 hole indexed wood knob will fit on a DAM Quick.

I'm glad you like those Fred.
Now I need to confess... The wood knob was meant to have a smaller hole in the center.
I've been using milling bits lately, not really meant to be used freehand, but with a little patience they could work.
Here I guess I when at it too fast and it went off on me, so I decided to enlarge the hole.
It actually looks pretty good :)

Yup! you are correct Joe, but this one went sideways. Oval holes don't do good with round shafts ;D.

There are two things I don't like about fishing.  Getting up early in the morning and boats.  The rest of it is fun.
