It seems the older I get, The faster time flies by. I got my flu shot and it seemed like I just got one.
I have been busy this year. Made four trips to Florida. Had another Grandson. Celebrated my Grandfathers 93rd Birthday Party two weeks ago.
Life is good.
Keeping up with the house and car maintenance, yard work and my job leaves me time for little else.
I just enjoy coming here to speak with everyone and see what is going on in their lives.
The latest reel aquisition, The latest catch, or just the comraderie of the site.
I have been plagued by moles tearing up the yard this year. I used to catch them lickety split, but they have been evading me.
I set four traps tonight. I hope to have one tomorrow.
Also A chipmunk decided to make a den outside my front door.
As cute as they are, they are destructive little devils. If left alone, they will dig elaborate tunnels that can damage your home.
I've shot this one before with the Red Ryder and he staggered a few steps. I saw him again this week leaving for work and he stood up steps from me as to say "This is my space."
He met his demise tonight and was relocated. ;)

I had a plague of moles (that's what it looked like ;)) a couple of years ago. Learnig how and where to set the traps was a quick learning curve thanks the the internet.
It seems moles don't like to use another moles tunnel or even cross one (soliltary critters I guess). Anyway I ended up with several juveniles and one adult (the female I presume)

I used these standard scissor traps which worked well when setup properly:

Our smallest cat kills and drags home muskrats and most of our cats catch moles and gophers.  I usually leave the moles be but kill all gophers.
Hi, my name is Lee and I have a fishing gear problem.

I have all of the answers, yup, no, maybe.

A man who carries a cat by the tail learns something he can learn in no other way.

Luckily, I don't have gophers.
Our Version we call a ground hog, like Benni said. They are as big as a cat, if not bigger.
I use a spike trap and these moles keep outsmarting me.
The spikes are at least 6" long. They set off the trap, but are too deep to get stuck. Never seen anything like it.
Whether it is a 12 Gauge or a Shovel,

There's always the old "hose in the hole" method....
