If a 716 or 714 Badge is Missing — What to Do?

Some parts are very tough to source on these old green Penn spinners.

Fortunately, I have LOTS of New Old Stock Parts for these great, solid old Spinfishers — from the 700's to the 716's.

Made in the USA — at the Penn plant in Philadelphia.

But sometimes — good old innovation is called for...

Here is a 716 — a penny can be glued in place of the emblem.

It is the perfect indentation — and looks pretty good.

This happens to be a 1943 Steel Lincoln Cent — minted in Philadelphia, where Penn(y) is, of course.

This puts the penny at exactly 76 years old (also, the US Date of Independence).

The fit could not be more perfect — and the silver matches the silver on the reel.

I have a few hundred of these Steel cents, if anyone wants one — I can send it out.

Best,

Fred

Looks great, Fred, I used an Indian Head Penny awhile back on one of my old greenies, fits like a glove.
God, Family and Fishing, what else is there?
