Just finished up this 501. It's a $5 garage sale pickup my mother in law found in Wrangell. Lots of 209s, 309s, and 49s come through. This is the first jigmaster she's scored for me.

Should have taken before pictures. It's looked terrible but the corrosion wasn't very deep. Just a little on the aluminum spool.

All stock, even the sleeve was still tight!

Beauty!  Not sure I've ever seen a 501 aluminum spool without anodizing before.

Nice spool, I've seen silver 500 spools but not a 501. $5,can't beat that!
Do what you can with that you have where you are

I'm assuming the spool is stock?

Man, none of the screws were marred up it sure looked to have never been opened up before?

Alto Mare

That's a heck of a deal, you won't see many narrow spools anodized is silver as you have.
Enjoy it!

Forget about all the reasons why something may not work. You only need to find one good reason why it will.

Many a bad rap has been accepted by a mother in law.  Most likely they are justified.  Never complain to the gift hog🍩. Just saying.   I'm still waiting.  Just wondering 🌚
