Newell 5-1 Gears

I have a S338-3.6 and a 440-3.6 that I'd like to change over to 5-1. Are these parts available?

originals?  no.  only aftermarket.  but stock 4:1 penn jigmaster gears should work.

Gear sets pop up on ebay from time to time, other than that it's hard to find them. Be easier to sell those and buy a few reels
Do what you can with that you have where you are

I looked on eBay briefly but only saw some main gears. Will the Jigmaster gear set fit both the 338 & 440?

If I can get the 5-1 gears I think I'll hold onto the 3.6-1 gears for spares.

Only the 4:1 gear set will fit. The pinion gear of the 5:1 gear set has a smaller collar than Newell's gear set.
:D I talk with every part I send out and each reel I repair so that they perform at the top of their game. :D

All I see on eBay for both reels are main gears, no pinions. Seems weird to me.

I could use a few pinions, i have a few orphan main gears.  Never seem to see them on ebay
Do what you can with that you have where you are

If you made the collar on your 5:1 pinion the same inside diameter as your 4:1 pinion gear, then yes, it'll fit. If not, it will not fit because the 5:1 pinion has a smaller inside diameter collar.
