What Makes a DAM Quick Reel So Durable, Capable, and a Good Value?

Beside a minimum of plastic —- the selection of quality metals that work well with each other exactly where needed.

Steel, Bronze, brass, copper, aluminum.

Here is a High Speed DQ 221 that I am building for a member today.

The only plastics are the crank knob, drag knob, shift lever buffer sleeve, crank compression washer, and the spool.

And yet, only 11 ounces for a lifetime of fishing at a price that won't break the bank.

No shortcuts or wild claims —- just quiet and effective results over the decades.

      Well For me , It`s this .    No matter how hard you play  or forgot to flush out the sand or leave in the bilge for a while ,you still can make it come back to new ..

All that was stated already, plus; close tolerances, material thickness where it's really needed, and only one quality b.bearing. Those long crank-arm oil-lite bushings Fred mentioned in another post are great too.
