I am working on the above reel, I have removed the side plate, taken the screw out of the oscillation slider & removed the clip that should retain the main shaft, but cant pull the main shaft out, I have removed all the rear drag, have screwed the spool cap back on the shaft, to give me more pulling power on the shaft, but cant move it, can anyone give some advice please cheers Don. thanks in advance.

Does it move out at all away from the Slide?

It may have a bur on the shaft from where the screw threads are and you might try holding the Rotor and twist the shaft back and forth as you pull on it .

Update Henry & all, I managed to tap the main shaft in further, then scraped most of the sediment of off it, by this time I had removed all the rear drag, then managed to tap it out, with a very thin screw driver & a light hammer, cresent shifter, they make the best hammers ay, after I got the shaft out, I gave it a good cleening, then spun it, with the portable drill, & smoothed it of using 2500 wet & dry, looks like new now, cheers Don.

"cresent shifter, they make the best hammers ay,"

Maybe not "the best", but usually the one that is closest to where you need it !
Glad you got it repaired!
There's nothing wrong with a few "F's" on your record....Food, Fun, Flowers, Fishing, Friends, and Fun....to name just a few !

Yes I have it back together & running nice & smooth, like the cresent, keep well, cheers Don.

Are using a Standard Crescent or Metric ? Right Handed or Left ?
Left Handed Metrics seem to be more precise in Delicate Work . :d

Dam you Henry, Billy, I drempt about that all night, that metric hammer works best right handed for me, I am very pleased with the reel now, before I started on it, I was sure it had a bad bearing or slightly bent drive shaft, just goes to show what a bit of cresent TLC can do, thanks for all the help, cheers Don.

That's great news the reel is 100% now Don!  I feel for you because I too have lost sleep thinking about a reel.  Now send us some photos of the reel in action, I always enjoy seeing some of the unique species you catch (like the one with the blue bones).  I always have to remind myself when I see your posts that it is an entirely different season down there where you are, tight lines Sir! - john

Thanks Henry, this reel belongs to my neigbour, & they only beach fish with it, they asked me to place new 15Kg line on it 32.6 lbs, it would handle a good size mullaway on it, but they are expecting to catch taylor with it, I will try & send you a pic oft he reel, they are well made strenght wize, but some of the metal in them is prone to rust, cheers Don.
