thanks to all for the kind welcome - appreciate it

to answer Don's questions-

I live in Michigan; my dad would take me fishing
when I was young. I appreciate the memories, the lures, fishing techniques and also still have
the 12 foot Meyers row-boat we used way back then.

My memories of the equipment he used (rod/reel)
are not as clear-he has been gone since 1990
and although I was given his fishing 'stuff'
since it wasn't connected to my memories I didn't
cherish it as I otherwise might of.

I have a Garcia Mitchell 301 that works well
and a DAM Quick 220N that I haven't used yet-
unfortunately no memory of where I got these.

Also recently purchased a DAM Quick 110N
(partially from discovering this forum and
learning about it) and like it a lot!

All 3 of these are original never serviced
and my plan is to clean and lube properly
this winter.

cheers-
Russ

Those are (3) good spinners, Russ —-

The 301 has the crank on the passenger side —- the 220N & 110N have the cranks on the driver's side. On all three of these reels, the cranks are not reversible from left to right.

There are a few simple tricks to setting these reels up properly.  And if that is done —- they will outlast you and me.

For advice and any needed parts —- just let us know, I have whatever you need in the way of free advice or cheap parts.

Thanks Russ, take your time & use digital photos as you strip your reels, then refer back to them as your placing them back together, make sure you have good quality screw drivers, that dont slip & scratch your reels when working, I believe that Foakes, Fred Oakes, would have the largest supply of parts for them reels in the world, & a fare man to deal with, cheers Don.
