I am unfamiliar with the larger Mitchell spinning reels ,but the 02  series appear to be deemed salt water . What is the largest Mitchell spinner ever produced? 302,306,402,& the 486 is the largest I have ever seen. These are 4 of Keith's reels given to me by Jason. :al

Welcome back Fred, hope you had a great vacation. Speaking of Mitchell reels I would like to know if you have a complete drag assembly for a Mitchell 302?

I love the 499, with the exception of that silly plastic drag. I have broke 3!
Fred, any chance you have a 499 pro brass drag?

I should be able to put one together for you, Jim —-

Think it has around 10 (+/-) parts in the drag.

Will probably start catching up on orders in a couple of days.

488 is essentially 486 with larger spool; 498 and 499 are similar in size but skirted. 489 / 499 crank with the wrong hand and only Ron and my buddy Ray Bullock them :)

302 and 402 are same size, but all '4-: designated Mitchells are HS and may have upgrades like better handles.

I'd estimate I hold around 25 302/402/306/307/402/486/488. Favored for decades in my neck of the woods, both in the surf and throwing spoons for distance in fresh water tailrace on honey  Lami and Fenwicks.
