PENN Squall SQL30VSW 2 Speed Lever Drag- are there strength issues with this compared to an Intl.? obviously one is metal, the Squall not; looking to use for GOM tuna. thanks

Don't forget the Fathom- aluminum, and not 700 bucks. Fished within specs Squall should be ok. Yoo didn't say which 30, and what size tuna...the Gen one 30 and a 30VISX are two different animals.

what line class do you want to fish?  if it's 100 pound mono/fluoro and 30 pounds of drag at strike, go with the international.  if you can land these fish with 50 pound mono and 15 pounds of drag, get the squall.

you are talking about two completely different classes of reels.  they should not even be mentioned in the same sentence.
