Olympic 440 clicker repair

Good morning gents,
I've got what I'm pretty sure is an Olympic 440 (part of the label is missing).

After a bit of disassembly, a trip through an ultrasonic cleaner for some parts, and some lubrication, the only thing broken is the clicker spring. The parts on that side are riveted in place. Any suggestions for replacing the spring?

Either drill out the rivet and replace with a similar rivet.

Or drill out the rivet and replace with a machine screw and a lock nut on the outside. Then grind down the head flat on the screw with a Dremel.

Do you happen to know what the spring is supposed to look like? I can't find a diagram of the reel, and the pflueger it knocked off is a little different inside

The spring look like it is all there , it is unlatched from the click paw .

Found a picture ,tail goes against the pin and hooked end on the paw . Click on picture for blow up view

Yes, and it could be replaced using a piece of stainless leader wire in the appropriate size.

ss lead wire about 120lbs is very strong, i use it for springs in alvey reels, should always have some in your tool box, cheers don.

Thank you all for your help. I think mine was missing about 1/8" off the end. A little reshaping has the clicker working again. I may drill out that post and tap it for a machine screw if I ever replace the spring.

I think you may be able to wind a spring around the post with out removing it ,if you have to replace the spring .
