Like some of you, I "usually" Cary at least two pocket knives...one in each fron pocket of my jeans/ shorts. When I'm "home" (back in Illinois) I carry another pair, as well...a folding "pruning knife", and a "pocket clip type" with a long, thin blade.....and, I'm usually spend quite a bit of time trying to remember where I last used one of them, 'cause that's where I laid it down ::)
There's nothing wrong with a few "F's" on your record....Food, Fun, Flowers, Fishing, Friends, and Fun....to name just a few !

About 4 years ago, our neighbor's older yellow lab passed on.

They had decided to not get another dog, so they had a half full bag of dry dog food that they gave us for Spud.

When I started to pour it into one of our larger ant-proof containers —- a Buck Stockman came out of the bag also with one blade open.  Looks like it had been in there for quite some time since the knife was covered with a kind of greasy stuff and kibble dust & bits.

Took it upstairs and did a thorough cleaning job inside and out.  Ultrasonic cleaner with Dawn, toothbrush, Q-Tips.  Sharpened all of the dull blades, added a few drops of oil, polished it up, checked all functions and blade walk & spring snap for any issues —- polished the exterior.  It was in great shape now.  Put it in a new protective belt sheaf.

Returned it to Howard.  He was overjoyed since he had been missing it for around six months —- and it was a knife his Dad carried for a a long time before he passed on.  He was sick about losing it —- and had looked everywhere for 6 months.

Other places I  have found lost knives have been in furniture, under the edge of the bed when I take off my jeans, under the desk in my office, the hamper, the washing machine, and one time a little Camo Buck SS Lockback that endured two years under the snow and dirt (after I replaced it).

Your knife may turn up —- but if one of these two unused & new knives would work for you —- just let me know and I'll pop one in the mail as a gift to a good member.

Best, Fred

Fred,
I have 3 "missing" knives now. 2 in the house and one I think fell into the bottomless pit between my truck seat and the console.
Hi, my name is Lee and I have a fishing gear problem.

I have all of the answers, yup, no, maybe.

I used to always carry a blade everywhere. Somewhere along the line that just plain stopped. I think it was the return to the desk job that slowly made it happen. Now I have 4 in different spots in my truck and a fixed blade CRKT (someone told me it's a knockoff but it's still quite sharp after a lot of use and does the job) in the pencil holder on my desk. And more blades scattered around my garage in the different places I do things. So  I guess I just stopped feeling like I needed one in my pocket.

A year ago, I had a chance to pick up a group of 16 pocket knives for $60.

A few were old, somewhat worn, advertisers, or stuff that none of us would carry.

But in the group was a USA Buck 112, solid & slightly used.

A USA 371+ Buck Stockman, unused.

A Schrade Wostenholm, from the UK, M1965, 1XL, Lockback, never used, but tarnished on one side.

A USA Remington UMC Camp knife, never used (but I have used and carried it now).

Plus a never used new Case XX Mako Shark Lockback with a new & unused belt sheath.

The photos on eBay were lousy and everything was tossed in a heap with a BIN of $60.

I studied the terrible photos for about 2 minutes until I saw the Mako.  Then pulled the trigger 4 minutes after it was listed late at night.
