My kids are out of town this week and my birthday is in 3 weeks. Weather is ok. And there was a spot open on the 12hr overnight out of Hubbard's tonight.

Game on.

So the bite was slower on this one than any previous trip I've been on with these guys. Fish are fish. I still left with 10 lane snapped and a decent sized porgy but it definitely wasn't a bonanza trip. I lost an enormous mangrove snapper at the surface because I stupidly tried to hoist him out not knowing the deckhand was right behind me with the gaff. Some life lessons hurt more than others. But that's fishing. I had a blast and I'm glad I went.

Seas were calm-ish and there was a nice breeze most of the time so it wasn't brutally hot.

Now it's time for a nap.

They have a loosely enforced 3 rod limit. I brought my accurate 270, my Newell 220, and my Penn Baja. All saw fish.

We did pretty good , my nephew caught his limit .  He slept the whole 2 and a half hours back to the dock .  We all got muscle burned today .
