Crab Pot

Buy it nice or buy it twice.

I guess word got out that I restore cast iron.  The wife's friend sent this unmarked skillet.  Pretty crusty with some rust.  So into the electrolysis tank it goes.  Hard to see but there are bubbles forming off the skillet which indicates the process is working.  I figure at least two days to clean the cooking side.
It may not be very productive,
but it's sure going to be interesting!

So after 24 hours in the e tank, 95% of the rust and crud have been removed.  I will let it coo, another 24 hours to remove the stubborn stuff.  Bill

After another 24 hours 99% of the crud is gone.  Scrubbed it with Ajax, rinsed well, hand dried, warmed on the stove, and applied 1 coat of peanut.  Heated to 500* and this skillet is ready to use.  Bill
