My wife and I went to a Scandinavian couple's house for lutefisk sometime during the Christmas holidays,  The smell of decomposing cod cooking was pretty awful. We had to sit down because the smell was in the warmer air.  Sitting down allowed us to be under the smell that lingered in the upper part of the room.  I have to admit it did not taste as bad as it smelled.  Just less bad.  Dominick
