I've never seen parts laid out like that in a manual. I'm more accustomed to other varying types of exploded views that show a spatial relationship of the parts.
Any machine is a smoke machine if you use it wrong enough.

Yeah, but they provide a more detailed picture of each part.  Better than you get with an exploded view.

The Mignon does not, appear to be any to be easier to work on than the Alcedo Micron competition/comparable/look-alike reel of the time.  It too has the ball bearing with loose balls.  The Magnon has a screw-on handle though.

I have both & they're about the same. The Mignon may be somewhat, but very slightly, easier to work on. The big difference is the CarGem has a pop off spool.
Love those open face spinning reels! (Especially ABU & ABU/Zebco Cardinals)

I need to find one without spending a fortune on it.

Good luck! They bring a healthy buck or three, usually at least $60 + shipping, even in rough condition.

Where is Fred's list? I knew he was posting something.

No he didn't, its a 55 Mariner which is a larger saltwater size reel, not a UL.

I was online last night...these Mignons are expensive...I think I might content myself with the lowly Alcedo Microns and Shakespeare 2052s until I hit the lotto.

Midway Tommy

Yeah, they're a pretty desired and pricey item, kind of like the Orvis 50As, but not near as sought after as the ABU & Zebco Cardinal 3s.

I just saw a nice-looking one today in a thrift store in Santa Maria, California for $25.  It looked nice, maybe an 8.5 on a 10 scale, but the bail was hitting the spool when it flipped, and sometimes hit the handle when reeling.  I am mechanically challenged, so I didn't buy it.  If anyone local wants the store information, please let me know.  I asked them and they do not ship.

I am befuddled by the pricing on Cardinal 3s, MUCH higher than the bigger ones. One of these days I'll buy a Cardinal of some sort just to get a feel for them and see if I like them.
