Hey All,
Laid out my 220n parts after cleaning kind of where I think they go (pics 1 and 2) and had a shim left over (pic 3 next to booklet) that I don't remember taking off and don't see in schematic.  Fits perfectly on main gear shaft however- is that where it is from?
Thanks, Russ

Okay that must be the right place for the shim because I put it there and this reel is smoothest by far of the reels I've taken down, cleaned and put back together since I found this site. Only small issue (quibbling here) is that the bail wire moves slightly in and out sometimes on the side with the small black plastic plug- or maybe that is normal. Seems like it couldn't be with such a place for everything and everything in its place reel.

I like this 220N so much! It is so smooth it almost makes me want to go back and do my Mithcells and Shakespeares all over again- almost. Anyway as I mentioned above there is one little detail that is bugging me - bail wire slides in and out a little bit from side of bail assembly with plastic plug. Plug itself is damaged I think (see pics). Not a huge deal just wondering if a new plug would solve issue or is there some other way you guys recommend to stop the sliding in and out of the wire.

Yes they do have a little slop in there .  The black plug helps keep it to a minimum .
The best thing to do is spend time to make sure the bail is the rite shape and the pivot arms are nice and square . The bail closing is nice and crisp .

Yes, the black bail cover caps are all the same across the various DQ reels.

Reels(most stuff?) purchased from the used market always seem to have at least one issue, not appreciated by nit-picky perfectionists. Could be why they are sold in the first place. Some stuff can be fixed, most of the time for me, it's better to get the part replaced, but not an easy task to locate the right one.
In fact the only reels I buy that are usually completely right, are the New In Box ones. I have bought some advertised as "NIB" , but close examination(the stuff you won't see in pictures) shows marks from use that have been polished-up, but are still there.
