Nowadays I'd say an Abu Suveran. Just... an absurd reel for its time, in terms of the engineering statement it makes. Kinda funny looking though.

I couldn't afford the Suveran, but had a CD6 (center-drag) with similar unibody/gearbox construction. AR bearing was its bane, but other than that a good reel with a great drag.
