Thanks so much Steve! I am tinkering with some Alcedos today, a Micron and a 2CS. Whoever thought filling up the micron with bright green smelly grease was a good idea needs a swift kick in the behind.

Got another Orvis 100 with a "bad bail spring" for very little money. Loosened the screw about 1/10th of a turn, hit it with a little WD40 and it seems to work just fine. This was another reel that was dry as a bone inside, no oil, no dried yup grease, nothing. I wiped everything down, added some Peen oil and some Quantum Hot Sauce because that's what was on my desk, and we are good to go.
