Reel Repair by Alan Tani

Acquired a couple of planers to try, probably for kingfish. I'm familiar with the Sea Striker (top planer), but have never used or seen the Luxon Magill (bottom planer). The aerodynamic shape of the Luxon confuses me a bit. I believe I have the Luxon oriented correctly in pic with the Sea Striker. My reel's line to the left, and line with bait or lure to the right, as planer weight should be closer to the reel line, correct? TIA.
