I couldn't wait until the Basspro was built in my city. After years of going To Atlanta or wherever I got the chance in any city it was a major event, I made a list, had the flyer marked of what to look at.

Anywho, I just got the latest BPS Bass Fishing Flyer. The prices in my IMO make My vintage collection much more appealing. Don't get me wrong they do have some good Tackle. I do have a Pro Qualifier combo I bought half price one black friday. It's nice to fish with but I could never justify paying full retail when I can get Vintage tackle for less that lasts longer.

Two rules on the boat
1. Fish where the fish are
2. See rule #1

I have always found BPS over priced. But agree vintage is the way to go.  Bill
It may not be very productive,
but it's sure going to be interesting!

I agree for the most part.  BUT, while in advertising they bill their "Spring Fishing Classic" as a "donate a rod or reel and get XXX off of a new one", the way it actually worked in my experience was I purchased and donated and off the shelf spincast reel for their youth programs (new in box) and they knocked a sizeable chunk off my International VISX20.  Like anything else, I think you have to know what you are looking for and general pricing, and also keep in mind that Brass Hoe carries an vary wide selection, but they may not have every (insert top name manufacturer here) reel from their lineup. - john
