Indeed there is John. How bout a 1930's red long beach. Its one of the smaller yardage long beach 61,62, & 63. ...Now back to the red 9/0....

Ted I have never seen the palm tree plates & if I read the head plate correctly Penn LONG BEACH "Pol'd" ?

 Yes, no model number. Back in mid to late 30's, all long beach models only said "long beach" in the logo. The way to tell its size was yardage stamp on the seat. The 61,62 and 63 were 100yds,150 yds, and 200 yds. The long beach 60 250yds, long beach 65 300yds, the 66 400yds, 67 500 yds. The long beach 68 intro was 1942 when they quit yardage stamping and actually had a model number in the logo. The smaller long beach reels(61,62,&63)did have a unique palm tree scene etched into the tailplate. Those smaller yardage long beach reels were only produced for couple years, and are very hard to find

I believe that is "Pat'd".  Many Penn reels were marked like that.
