A mate gave me an electric motor, but know info of RPM, the only details it has on it, B&G, or maybe the G is a D, it also has NOT-401-62, in another area it has an, M, I have had it running on 240 volt, single phase, it has a half inch drive shaft, but it dont say how many RPM, and I dont have a rev counter., any info would be handy thanks, Don.

240 volts!?! Off a battery? Or household current?
Fishing tackle is an art form and all fish caught on the right tackle are"Gfish"!

50hz?

Not enough information for me to guess as in the US 240V is 2 legs (two phase) of 120V at 60 hz.  Runing at 50hz will be slower than 60hz but that is no help for you.

I found the link below to BG, a interesting Chinese company.  I have to go but the link below might give you a direction to look.

According to my wife who previously worked in the Electric Motor industry for Reliance Electric and Rockwell Auutomation, it might be a Bell & Gossett Motor.

The M is probably a prefix for the model number. You see no digits after the M?

Just looking on line as Bell & Gossett Motors, does it look like any of the motors from the State Supply site? https://www.statesupply.com/bell-and-gossett/pump/part/motor/motor
