Found these (4) fly reels from the UK in an old Plano carrying satchel that I thought was empty —- and forgot about.  They belonged to the Father of a 73 year old man —- who grabbed them when he sold Dad's house. But the son wasn't a fisherman.

Cortland 444 LTD with case, England

Hardy Bros. LTD, England, LRH, Lightweight, case

JE Young & Sons LTD, 1510, Redditch, England, case

Hardy Bros Alnwick LTD, "The Perfect", 3 5/8", case

Will be having a reel sale down at the roundabout Friday & Saturday.

If any interest before then, let me know.

All have been carefully stored within cases.

They show very little, if much use.  All function perfectly, as when new.

I recall them now, but forgot about them for a few years.

Those are some nice fly reels. They appear to be spring & pawl (aka click-pawl) reels. Excellent trout reels.  I have half a dozen Hardy fly reels and various other fly reels Hardy made for other companies.

Sold the Cortland, and still have the (2) Hardy's and the (1) JE Young & Sons.

All like new with cases.

I know little about fly reels —- except that they will go away soon, I hope.

Nice reels.  For some reason, I always seem to link England with fly fishing.  I have some fly gear, but it hasn't seen much use.  Someday....  I don't know another single fly angler in my neck of the woods.
