1300C Rotor Stuck On

I was servicing one of my 1300C & the rotor is stuck on.I tried placing 2 wood blocks under the rotor & tapping the pinion gear with a jeweler's hammer to no avail.I have it in my hobby vice with Kroil doing its thing overnight.I tried wiggling it is tight.I may try a little heat if kroil doesnt work.

The main gear was stuck in the bushing & had to drive it out with a punch.

 :)  It took awhile for it to get stuck , give the man in the can some time to unstick it .   :d

Rusted alluminum will stuck bad , I have to use some drain opening liquid ,set overnight to remove it sometime

Still stuck but it'll spin forever. So I put it back together & it will stay in my truck, these 1300Cs are great, had I known this in the 80s,I might have a few more...

 I think this happens on those reels because torquing the handle up tight can flair the ends of the main gear shaft. I usually just work some heavy oil in there and leave it alone,the other option is to lightly sand around the end of the shaft to work the flair down.

Fred made up a jig for doing that on the Dam Quicks.  He drilled a few different sized holes into a wooden block and taps out the bearing that way.  Worked really nicely for me. 
I fish because the voices in my head tell me to.
