Looking for a little knowledge about time frames of logos.

I have a 7' Shakespeare Wonder Rod with the yellow "S" in a field of black.  The rod Is a wood butt and cork for grip conventional.

I had previously dated that logo style to the late 60's- early 70's.

Today I saw the same logo on a rod at sleazebay that has a date code of EAA that would put it at 1960 manufacture.

Does anyone have the straight dope on the logo eras?

I don't think Shakespeare date codes lie; October, 1060.  How did you date it the first time?

Trying to nail down time frames for the logos, ...as the rod I'm looking at doesn't have any of the date code left readable,....nor the model number.

Yellow S in the black field.

Yeah, I know how the date code works, but what is your reference for the progression/evolution of the logo over time?
