I was thinking about just hanging a simple rod rack on the back of my golf cart, but I'm finding that my tackle boxes and whatnot bounce around too much, even when bungee-corded in place, so I am thinking about some sort of modular rack thing to hold the stuff more steady. Initially I thought about something the funeral homes used to use to transport flowers...a wooden platform maybe 8 inches high, with round holes cut in it to keep potted plants and flowers in place...only I would have rectangular openings for tackle boxes or other stuff. There is also a trapdoor that I have been using to basically drop the rods in, the lid is up in one pic. The platform is 33 inches front to back, 38 inches across. I'm open to suggestions. It can't be permanently mounted because periodically we do use the rear facing seat to take people up to the restaurant at the golf club.

Dave your golf cart is way too clean,mine is a work truck.I wash it when I know the grandkids won't be coming for awhile.They like to play in mud,not happy til they get stuck.

James, my wife insists on tire shine and the whole thing so we look civilized when we go out to dinner and park in the grass right outside the Oak Leaf. One neighbor has a Rolls Royce grill, another has a Mercedes emblem on his, one rebel has Tiki torches on the corners of the roof and a mini surfboard on back.

What about a small trailer, you could put a lot of gear in it, maybe a chair or two. Just un-hitch it when you have guests

great question...I am trying to keep this lowkey...we're really not supposed to fish the golf course and a trailer might draw unwanted attention from the golf-nazis.

Hang the tackle boxes from the roof to dampen bouncing.  Constrain them with pieces of pool noodle on the deck to keep them from swinging and banging around.

Rocket launchers on the front would be conspicuous so mount two-point rod holders in the ceiling like these

Yakima ski rack for the rods on top,,,but that it,,,the roof is very thin can't handle alot of weight,,,,

Look up kayak milk crate builds, tons of options. Hogy makes a nice milk crate cover with pockets if you want it to be more put together. Should be easier to secure on back or set on floor next to you and you can put a lot of planos in them. My dad used Scotty square rail mounts on the vertical top supports to put rod holders on his but most of the time he just put the butts in the floor and had the tips angled out the back resting against the seat.

Cool stuff. You could limit yourself to 2-piece rods stored down in a golf club bag, maybe with socks on the end. I'd think low-tech., like an easy to remove foam or air mattress for the tackle boxes.

If this is mostly for fishing around the golf course, and you want to go ultra-low-key, maybe take an old golf bag that doesn't have full length dividers and remove or modify the divider.  Pop the rigged  rods in the bag, and use bag pockets to store tackle.  Assuming that you already have bag mounts on your cart, you will not need any mounting hardware.  Done.  Ready to go. Or...

Depending on on how far you want to go, you modify the divider space to carry  two piece rods rigged but broken down, so you just have to connect  the ferrules, and you are ready to cast.  Or even hack the bag so the the entire divider/rod storage compartment opens from the side.  Depends on how much you like hacking stuff up.

Agree.  Telescoping outfit and a minimal tackle holder is the easiest and most low key. I am assuming that there are some favorite rods that the OP wants to fish.
