I am working on a Pro EXW 4/0 2 and the clicker switch will not stay on also what does the button right under clicker do?

The button locks the spool.  It has been over 10 years since I have worked on a EX 4/0 and I will have to take one of mine apart to refresh my memory.  Parts will most likely be hard to find as they have been out of production for almost 20 years.

Thanks for the reply I am a dumb #### found clicker only works with line going out and has auto shut off.

Good.  Dig through the archives and look for Alan's hotrod posts on these reels.  DO NOT LOOSE THE CLIPS THAT HOLD THE DRAG PLATE, they are imposable to find.

I saw that post about the clips and did not open the drag I would have liked to clean and grease drag washer. The main problem with this reel was bad bearings you couldn't turn the handle or move drag lever. I cleaned the rusty crusty stuff really good got new bearings greased everything up and all was good till putting the side plate on with the dogs that took a few try's and lots of swearing got it done 

Usually you can get the dogs in place by turning the handle.
