I lost my modded 501 on my wrapped-by-me LM9 over the side this week and need to start over.

First,I'm looking for a lightly used stock 501 with aluminum spool and hoping somebody has one sitting around for my project — Tiburon frame, SS gear sleeve, with fine threads and B. Y. 5+1 stack. `Except for my Calcutta w/15lb, I only fish with Jigmasters and Senators and mono.

Second, About a rod: My first thought was to get another LM9 but my son is trying to talk to me into a Super Seeker. He fishes all Trinidads and fancy bass reels with braid. I know nothing but it seems Jigmasters, mono, and glass rods are made for each other and I have no plans to start using braid.

What do you recommend for a do it all 30 lb. rod for SoCal waters? Glass or composite? 8' or 9'?

I'm pretty sure I have you covered. I'll check after breakfast. I built 3 or four. Color preference?

Nothing wrong w/all glass, but if I only had 1 rod, I would fish a composite in 8'. I have a few older factory (Black Steel) Seekers and their Cousins cousins, but no Super Seekers (I'm cheap). There's a fair no of used ones out there, but if you wanna a new Seeker, my buddy got a custom wrap from their showroom in Orange. LM9 & D8 still available according to their website.

The rod is settled. My son just got back from his girls place in Orange County with a SS6480 blank🙂

Got an ss double-dog bridge with an ss gear sleeve. No gears though.

I'm sorry, apparently I have 8 modded and no plain ones. The closest I have is a burgundy red with 5 stacks, SS shaft with 505 star,aluminum spool,steel gear and chrome bridge and jack.

And I frustrated the crap out of myself trying to add pics. Every time my phone or Chromebook announces an upgrade it causes me grief, lol.

I do have a gold Accurate 501 frame too. 9/10
