Greetings. New member here looking for some help with my 1978 Zebco Cardinal 3 reel. I'm looking for a way to make a modification that will allow for manual bail release. Has anyone done sort of mod. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

The bail trip lever has notches/grooves in the outer end. It's a little cumbersome and takes a little getting used to but you can manually release it that way if you don't like turning the handle to accomplish the task.
