Another orphan found me , a little stiff.  The internal parts are cleaning up well.
Casting is a little ruff , will see what happens with a little black powder .

How do you get THAT MUCH sand in a reel?

Unless you found that buried under the sea bed.

This one has me scraching my head .  The even numbered N models has to be one of the best sealed reels to use.  The cover has a nice lip around the outside edge for sealing .      All though this one is eroded at the back of the cover ,picture # 4 has cover to compare .

The window [picture # 1 ] gets seals with the tab and lip seal , also note this casting has a good bridge across the worm gear as compared to picture 5 and 6 with the knife blade pointing to the gap /lack of bridge on some castings .

The worm and bearing are in great shape for the amount of salt and possible sand , wich I think is mostly salt crystals .

A little back story on this reel .    Stated as not working and a good price .   Yes it was a surprise when opened .  Looking at all the other parts , it is way to clean to have been under water and collect all that mess.    Picture 3 you can see the opening that started this .

I shot more of a rain coat on this reel to seal the casting and it runs smooth as butter .

In the last 2 pictures , you can see that I had to bend the cover a little to close it up, I had a little daylight !
