I have one of those and I didn't even know that it was a hard to find reel. Mine isn't quite so pretty on the exterior but I guess I should clean it up and be happy I have a "rare" reel. I guess I have to do a little research.

Is that a 6600w black max?If so it's a good score. I just sold one of those, it only had a couple of wear marks on it's edges and had the box and papers etc. Very nice reel, once piece frame similar to a morrum. If I recall correctly they only made the 6600w for one year. Hopefully I sold it to a collector, it was too good to use in my kayak.

G"day  raumatio1 yes it is a 6600w black max, just like new, my friend had it and it is as new[no box though],Not too sure on the specs on it but  it casts awesome,i wonder if anyone here  has or knows much about these reels and  how they differ? Also not excactly sure how rare they are but i am taking a guess that one in this condition would be.

From memory they have a lower 3.8 to 1 ratio than other abus also obviously the wider spool too.Here's the schematic

I did not know they were rare.  I converted one to a CT a couple of years ago.  Got a couple more laying around plus some silver ones, maybe 5600?
