Will the Boca bearings give the 506 better freespool?  Is there another bearing that should be considered?

no.  first, clean out the bearings that you have, lube them with tsi 321 (now available from mysticparts.com, btw) and give it a try.  make sure you also clean out the pinion gear.

Thanks Alan.  I polished inside of pinion and the related area of spool shaft- freespool is actually really good.  Doing a special reel and wondered if there was anything to be gained from the aftermarket bearings.   I'll order up some of the TSI superlube
