Ok I want to do my first tuna trip. I do not have money for new gear and was wondering if my gear will do?
1.Narrow Tank on 60# rod. 400 yrds of braid what kind of leader?
2. standeerd tank 40 to 80# rod same line as the narrow.
3. Gls 45 full of 60 # mono
4. 505 jigmaster? How do I set this one up

Where are you fishing out of?  How many days are you going out for?  What size tuna?

Here in So. Cal this time of the year, I would use the narrowed Tank for jigging/yoyo.  With the standard 4/0 tank, I would use it for my dropper loop set up.  Your hot-rodded 505 Jigmaster, I would fill it with 50 lb spectra, and use it with a short (3 foot) flourocarbon leader in 30 or 40 lb test.

Regardless, when we have limited funds, we buy the boat ticket and fresh line first!  We can always rent or borrow gear when needed.

I agree with you on the ticket and good line / tackle. When people come on my boat with their own gear first thing I ask is how old is your line ???

Thanks Alan will do.  What do I owe you for the 6/0 grip. If you haven't sent it out yet I need a gear sleeve for a black 113 thank you.

If you are goin out of Florida topshot 30 to 60# and line from 30 to 80# a narrow tank would be good for your larger jigs and the jigmaster with 30 to 50# braid and a 30 to 50# topshot for your smaller jigs will be fine. Most of the tuna you catch will be Blackfin between 15 and 40# with maybe some Yellowfin in the 60 to 100# range and possibility some AJ's and Wahoo in the mix.
