I suppose I need to free up some bench space before the 4/0 parts start arriving this week.....starting to look like Cortez Conversions-Vintage Offshore Tackle Southeast distributor, and this is only the jigmaster projects on the bench....

This is all Alan's fault. And Tom's. And Randy's. And Sal's. And Dan's. And Aiala with her dang blinged out jigmaster collection most of all that made me go dust off the old S's and start looking inside for SS guts ....like a best actor acceptance speech...

A big thanks to Tom and Randy on these projects, and Dawn for the Carbontex!

Sal, I need some delrin under gears otherwise I will post pics of the carbontex fibers for you....:)

Reel 224

And you didn't have nothing to do with that ??? ;D

Wellllllll.....if you look closely you can see some Newell parts that I put on some of the jiggy's 15 years ago before I knew you called it hotrodding...:)

that sweet motor you just built didn't help me either, Joe!

Nice collection. And whew, I'm not on the hook.
:D I talk with every part I send out and each reel I repair so that they perform at the top of their game. :D

Bryan, I was about to ask you....when I first joined, you courteously directed not to burn my shop down using rheostat on a DC motor; and thanks! I I got CRB drying lathe but IMO it still turns too fast for use with U40. what are your thoughts on rheostat for the CRB motor?

thanks!

Uh-huh! While I wait I'm working on a truly miserable mess of a 114H I rescued from eBay; not because I need it (I surely don't) but because I can't stand to see an abused reel go in the trash... sentimental me.   ::)

Aiala, is that the one we had communicated about with the screw in the right side plate? I think that was a 114H. I'm off work today working on my brown and black speckled Long Beach 60 I just picked up.

Sid, yep. I just finished breaking it down... I've seldom seen anything as sorry, it's as if some total idiot poured used motor oil into the works, used it to pound nails into concrete, and then left it submerged in the bay for a month.   >:(

That is all true, Aiala...However, what other reel in the world (or ever produced) can take that kind of treatment -- and be restored to a capable and useful reel?

I have absolute confidence that in your skilled hands -- you will bring this Lazarus back to beautiful condition.

Look forward to pics.

Good work!

Best,

Fred
