Great job, I have a few friends that love the Trinidad's, to the point they have multiples of each size as back ups and claims of 'owning forever....favorite reel...I'll never fish anything else...etc".  Thanks for sharing and good luck on your trip!

I liked the Trinidads OK. they were ahead of their time with dog and ARB and very smooth drags. My son still fishes a Trinidad  20DC on a jig stick. However, personally I LIKE the old Newells with the upgraded drags better for throwing the iron.

Thanks Gary! I was looking at the red set, as I'm certainly no electrician or computer guru.  I was however, hoping the drivers would give the torque to button the real up, so I may now look at the Chapman and Brownell sets.  Keep up the good work and I look forward to seeing the re-anodizing.
Thanks
Dom

nice work..

do all your trinidad have double dogs?
ones looks like a trini 20, I'll be thinking to double dog my 16 but haven found the parts yet

Sorry for misleading you. Only my TN40 has double dogs. Both the TN 16 and TN 20 have single with ARB.

still amazing, tn40 has only one dog, tn50 is the one with double dogs from the factory.

the double dog job that was performed on the tn40 could be done on the tn30, tn20 and tn16

The Trini 40N did come double dogged from the factory.

Hi Dom!

I have both the Chapman master set and the Whia master set as per the attached photos. These two sets together cost about the same, together, as the Whia set we were originally discussing. There are pluses to each set. The chapman has a better handle to get full torque on side plates etc. It also has a great selection of straight blade screwdriver bits. The Whia set has more smaller bits and a better hex ratchet. I use both sets together almost all the time! With two driver handles, two ratchets and my Milwaukee electric screw driver, I often have 5 different bits all loaded and in use on the same reel.

So in answer to your thinking, get both sets! You only live once and I have never heard anyone on their deathbed lamenting having bought too many quality tools in their life!! :-)

Thanks Gary! It seems we have similar taste in tools, and I have to agree... on my death bed I wanna say I had just enough tools to get the job done. ;)
I'm sure you won't need any other drivers for reel tinkering, at least  ;)
Stay fishy,
Dom

What was the COST of the Re-Anodizing ?

Tight Lines !

I'm interested in that as well. I'd like to have my Tiagras re-anodized. The last guy I talked to wanted over $400 a reel!
