At some point is gets to be a blur and they do not notice the new additions.  I left a shotgun and rifle in the closet and before I knew it I had a litter of pistols.
Hi, my name is Lee and I have a fishing gear problem.

I have all of the answers, yup, no, maybe.

My wife doesn't believe that's where the other guns come from.  Would you consider writing a treatise on Fire Arms Husbandry?  Make sure you sign the writing Lee Keta, M. D.   :D ;D Dominick
Leave the gun.  Take the cannolis.

There are two things I don't like about fishing.  Getting up early in the morning and boats.  The rest of it is fun.

True story here!
The other day, last Wednesday at work a coworker tells me he has a reel he'd like me to look at.  I'm thinking he's got some crusty reel for me to work over so I'm all for that.  He pulls out this gorgeous Accurate spinner an ST 30,  it looks brand new.  I'm fondling it gently drooling and stuttering and I ask, are you looking to sell it or what?  He says no I went to an estate sale and this woman's husband had died and she had a Tupperware laundry basket full of reels and I gave her $400.00 for the whole basket.  He didn't think he would use the reel and he knows I like to go to Mexico so he thought I might put it to good use!  Maybe we can make a trade for something later on.  Makes me wonder what else was in the basket?  I'm gonna ask him tomorrow, but it looks like all of our worst fears coming true.
After we die, our wives sell all our reels for what we told them we paid!

David that very notion has kept me awake at night 😜  So I gave my son a list of every reel I have with associated price and told him to protect the list and NEVER reveal its existence 😎 Especially to his mom.  Bill
It may not be very productive,
but it's sure going to be interesting!

My strategy is that of war of attrition. I keep buying & leaving the stuff out for her to see. Eventually she quits asking what is that? & How much did that cost?

I used to have my rods in a bundle in the corner. Who knows how many were in there. Then I built a rod rack on the ceiling and showed it to my wife. She counted up to 26 and said it was stupid because now she could count them. I pointed out that she missed a few in that other corner. I'm up to over 60 rods now and still going. Hey I need at least one per year of age! I guess I should point out that one son still lives with me and 20 are probably his, mostly bass sticks.  I have a United Composites rod on order that I'll pick up at the Long Beach Fred Hall Show and a Shimano Twin Power 14000 spinning reel for popping that's showing up tomorrow.

My wife doesn't even bother asking anymore.  Last time she asked I simply told her, you are a lot more fun to be around when you don't know, she agreed.
I don't look forward to doing an inventory and writing it all down.

Thanks for some Father's advice!  It's nice to know what to say asked too?  I must prepare myself daily.  :o
    Any body else out there?🚣‍♂️

I'm good to go, once again, now that the kitchen remodel is complete. I've got an Excel inventory spread sheet with original cost, condition, serial #s, if any, and approximate value to help her out if I happen to croak. Once I'm gone, though, I'm pretty sure it's not going to make me a big difference one way or the other.  ::)
Love those open face spinning reels! (Especially ABU & ABU/Zebco Cardinals)
