Nice catch on the BG.  Did those hybrids come out of LK?

SweetWater

Yeah LOVE that reel. Watched my grandfather catch many fish on the original and glad to be making lots of catches with mine. No Hartwell. No hybrids or stripers in keowee just all giant spots. There is talk of them stocking Jocassee but not sure if they done it or not. There were some big stripers caught out of there last year while trout fishing pulling spoons and now they're saying that's the reason why the trout have disappeared.

Nice.   Are the black bass spotted bass?  We don't have many bass here, some SM and LM but no spotted.
Hi, my name is Lee and I have a fishing gear problem.

I have all of the answers, yup, no, maybe.

They are in the black bass family. Considered invasive species here. They have completely taken over our waters and in some some lakes you can't even catch a largemouth or maybe 2 is considered an excellent day.

So they are spotted bass then?  The closest spotted bass to me are in Shasta and Whiskeytown Reservoirs 2-3 hours south in NorCal.  The closest small and largemouth are 50 miles west.

Oh yeah definitely spotted bass. I look forward to posting a lot of pictures. I'm only 10 minutes away from the two best spotted bass lakes in our state.

Hartwell makes sense. I didn't think there were hybrids or stripers in Keowee and didn't know any stripers were in Jocassee.

I like the BG, too. Got a 3000 last year just for stripers.

There were a few caught during tournaments and even one over 30 pounds. DNR took notice and there was a huge uproar about them stocking Jocassee and the trout anglers yelled in anger cause they will completely wipeout the trout. I kinda don't want them in there myself because there are monster spotted and small mouth bass in there. I love stripers but they will eat everything in sight. One reason why I come to Murray in the winter and throw ice flies and bucktails. Easy fun fishing.
