Customizing a Penn Senator

This should be a unique question. I am thinking about ways to customize the 14/0 senator I am about to buy, and thought you may be able to do something cool on the left sideplate. I thought it would be pretty badass to sand the leaping broadbill scene off of it, and then etch in an inlay of Jack Rackham's flag design with the Skull and crossed-cutlasses  , and then use a permanent faint white paint or some kid of lasting stain to fill it in. What do you guys think? Would there be a way to remove the factory etching without ruining the plastic? I think this could turn out pretty neat and set it apart from all the other senators out there.

I am in NO WAY an Artist. I would buy a side plate on ebay & play with the new one. If it comes out great it is only a matter of a few screws in & out to change.

I think I'll do what you recommended and after i finally get the 14, a rod, and line I'll see about finding a spare sideplate to play with. I'll try and take pics as I go in case it works. I think this'll be awesome if it works out. It'll be the envy of all the guys I shark fish with
