I think a stainless gear sleeve and 6 lobed drag would make it perfect.

I was looking at the stainless AT gear sleeves that are flat sided all the way to the ratchet like this mark 1 sleeve is and I remember a mate telling me that a 3/0 Senator drag washer is a very close fit on the mark 1 sleeve.
I got a 3/0 metal and tried it on my mark 1 sleeve. Just needed a few strokes on the inside flat areas with a diamond file and fits nicely.
