Yep! but mine need to be a little different from the rest though ;)
Forget about all the reasons why something may not work. You only need to find one good reason why it will.

Those are my favorite fish to catch and eat. We don't have the long fins down here but plenty of huge Bluefin here in the northern Gulf.

That had to be a blast on those reels.

Bob, that was Bobby Bogans gambler. First trip out on any boat in three years, due to family illnesses.  We were able to get out between gale force winds. Just goes to show that tuna fishing is like ridin a bike. At one point the LFT's were visible in the slick but very line shy. I had to drop down to a 30# floro just to get bit.

Great boat & crew.  Congratulations again on a terrific trip!

What he said.  Bob you have to be careful when you go east out of NJ you could fall off the earth.  :o Dominick
Leave the gun.  Take the cannolis.

There are two things I don't like about fishing.  Getting up early in the morning and boats.  The rest of it is fun.

PartII coming up....we'll see if we get the weather. ;)

hi  bob    where did you fish, hudson canyon?   spent many nights there 35 years ago,  the long fins are the best eating tuna, '' fancy white albacore ''  as starkist would say. nice fish, congrats, lots of fun. take care.    harry

BMITCH

Yeah Harry, we were in the Hudson. Relatively short run. There was a good bite out there this year. Been a looooong time since there was any consistency to the canyon bite. Anyhow, now starts the longfin bite. Hope to get another crack at them this year. Kinda tough to go tuna fishing when a buddy of mine sends me a picture this mourning of a 53# striper jigged. Hopefully I'll get a shot at both. I'll keep you folks posted! ;D

yeah  bob    the longfins are great i guess up to 65lbs. or so if i remember correct, multiple hook ups are crazy, have a reel good time, enjoy, been 33 years or so since i was out there, it's amazing, 100miles off shore from fire island  and it's like a traffic jam out there at times

I know I'm coming to this party a few months too late, but awesome trip BMitch!  I need to do something like this!  A couple guys I know have fished a party boat down in DE with success for Tuna in September/October.  I may need to sign up!  Overall you were happy with using your 6/0 size reel?  Maybe I'll build one of these next for a trip like that.  Again thanks for sharing!
