John, how's the boat coming along?  Bill

Still very little progress.
John has had trouble finding skilled labor to help him with the project.
I am looking into tackling the fish storage, helm chairs, new cushions, amd biminy with enclosure myself at this point.  Had a 1200lb fish box I wanted for the back deck fall through my hands, and I don't want to pay for new or custom now.  I like the force 1200lb box made by Force in Hilo, but may settle for a 600lb Aussie box.  Not sure what to do aboutb30gal livewell yet?  Maybe a kodiak with a custom bracket to mount it off of the stern?

John, there are also some freelance guys in Hilo making fish boxes and bait tanks.  Let me know if I should get their contact info.

John,
I Have seen how you fish, You have it down brother.
Best of luck with the resto. I sold my Boat.
I hated to do it, but it was the best decision for me.
She had a good run.
I can't wait to see the Dyer on the Water Again. ;)

Work was on hold for months due to my guy suffering from health issues.  He got released from the hospital last week and hired a guy who has made some progress over the last few days.

Engine sound/heat proofing is in, raw water strainer restored, thruu hulls done, hatch fabrication and removable cross suport complete, install in progress.  Thru hull transducer fitted/installed, a custom fiberglass fairing will be built.  Custom battery boxes were just built, will be finished/glassed in soon.  Then rear washdown mount, install, pluming, and thru deck fittings install.  Then rear hatch cut, then rear deck and hatch install.  New rub rail, refinish pulpit.  Fab/cut build fish door, sand and refinish/paint everything.  I am still really wanting a cabin built, but we will have to see how the progress is in the next few months.

... Daugherty Yachts (Edgewater) 1800 Marlin beside your boat; i have had one since 2004 and it's a great boat, my primary striper boat.

Those are zippy, nice riding boats for their size... Jeff

I's wondering about the progress on your boat after reading the Marlin fishing post. Updates are good, I'm learning from your experiences. Sounds like it'll mostly be your customized creation when it's done.
Personally though, I don't think I'd have the patience to deal with it. A guy having the $ to get it done timely and right, might not have all the "right" resources, such as the local connections.
Fishing tackle is an art form and all fish caught on the right tackle are"Gfish"!

Getting closer brother....can't wait for your shake down cruise.  If it's anything like your last one it will be epic....Bill
It may not be very productive,
but it's sure going to be interesting!

Progress no matter how small is always a good thing.  Keep driving the project it's coming along nicely.
Looks great everything you've posted.
