Hello Everyone :). I was wondering if anyone knows how to repair the anti-reverse on a Heddon 283 spinning reel.  Thanks BEE

Welcome aboard!

Using Mo's tutorial that Henry posted —

(3) typical culprits, in order of most common first —

1) Dried up, old grease interfering with Anti-Reverse dog and spring operation.

2) Bad A/R spring.

3) Worn A/R dog.

You can do a full disassemble and service according to Mo's tutorial — or just remove the sideplate to access the A/R dog & spring.  Clean up the dog, spring, any caked on grease — see if that cures it.  Then you can address the rest of the reel.

Let us know.

Best,

Fred
