Good afternoon.  Do the brake blocks need to be replaced from time to time?  Right side of spool.  Or is it a situation where if you have them, just use what you have?  I am a novice on this particular reel, and any tips greatly appreciated. I gotta get in there to replace the drags, and want to square away all the parts that need to be replaced. Thank you.

Most times, the brake blocks are not replaced until you turn the spool sideways and the little suckers fall off into the carpet, never to be seen again.  People have a lot of nerve asking the price they do to replace them.

While you're in there, maybe clean-out the the rotor area where the blocks run.

There are possibly a lot of ABU brake blocks in the ABU parts —- but I won't Che k those until some cool morning in a few days —- if you need some.

I have always just used the DAM Quick brake blocks —- of which I have plenty —- if you need some.
