Foliver, from Uruguay, welcome. I like it when non-USA people become members. I get a "nudge" to research other countries I don't know much about. Very interesting country/history. Despite a lot of foreign "influences" over its history, it seems to be pretty unique on to itself.

I've never seen staples to fix a broken side-plate. Thinking about it, bridge-plate screws, the spool shaft and frame posts/screws might do most of the work. Like oc1 said, I'd be tempted to use it as is, if it still works. The 160 is a base level Penn, though, and will have great parts avalibility. It looks from your photos like the eccentric system could be affected by that busted top part of the plate, does it go into and out of free-spool?
Fishing tackle is an art form and all fish caught on the right tackle are"Gfish"!

Hello, good morning, thank you for your comment Gfish, Uruguay is interesting and a beautiful country, very expensive to live in, but we are all used to it, hahaha
When I received the reel before opening it, the spool rotated quite freely, but the handle had movements in the axis, a lot of play.
Your idea of maintaining the original right side captivates me, and perhaps if I replace the internal mechanism, I will find the necessary rigidity of the whole, to make it functional... I am going to try it, since the voluntary nature of the assembly repair looks amazing. The problem is that the broken part is turned a little towards the inside of the spool, i have to see if the parts don't rub after assembly. It looks like a Mad Max reel.
The parts are already in Miami, and will fly to Uruguay soon, when I have them home I will post the results

txs Keta, will see after lubing how it works.
By the way what kind of grease and oil need i buy to use?, i'm new on that!
thanks!

Oliver good to have you on board.  As for oil and grease.  A light machine oil, whatever you might have is fine.  For grease, Nothing heavy,  but marine grease to guard against salt water corrosion is preferred (if fishing in salt water).  If you replace the drag washers with new carbon fiber, then a Teflon based grease is needed.  Cals Drag Grease is the go to, but some have been using Super Lube with good results.   Oil on the bearings and gear sleeve.  Grease everywhere else.  If you run into any problems give a shout out and we have you covered.  Bill, Southern California mountains
It may not be very productive,
but it's sure going to be interesting!
